Jason Prado is the founder and landscape designer of Prado + Jardín. Jason's roots in the Central Valley have given him a profound appreciation for its distinctive terrain and flora. He holds a Master's in Landscape Architecture from the University of California Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara. After completing his bachelor's, he entered into habitat restoration through the Soil Ecology and Restoration Group, a research group under the San Diego State Research Foundation. He later began his career in landscape architecture at MVVA followed by MNLA in New York City. During this time, he contributed to various public projects, including large-scale infrastructure projects aimed at combating rising sea levels, establishing a regional framework plan to convert rail lines into to trails, and intimate garden designs. He eventually returned to California landing with Miridae, a native plant focused design-build office out of Sacramento. His work is inspired by his Andean heritage and informed by his ecological background. Together, he aims to revive our innate bond with nature through promoting our native flora.
